Book of Fixed Stars- Original artwork

A large mixed media artwork on paper, The Book of Fixed Stars is based on the ancient Iranian 10th c manuscript of the same name. The artwork is on archival heavy paper, size 24hx36w. It is a combination of vintage map pages from a world atlas book, with hand printed acanthus leaf designs on each page, then collaged onto the acid free base sheet.  The 3 figures are hand painted with water based media.  The inks used on the acanthus design are water based and archival.  These figures depict one of the constellations.

As will all original artwork, this piece ships for free with taxes included. It is shipped flat in a secure box and ready to frame. 

Note: this piece has been accepted to the 49th Annual Rocky Mountain National Watermedia exhibition at the Center for Arts Evergreen, in Evergreen Colorado. It will be on display there from Sept.23 through October 29, 2022.
