Carving The Plate
I am using mdf 1/4” plywood and Japanese steel chisels.
Carving The Plate
With reduction printmaking, each color is inked and printed and then carved away.
Inking The Plate
I use oil based lithograph inks and roll on the color mixed with tint base to give light glazes of color.
Printing the Paper
In this case, a large sheet of kozo blend Japanese paper laid over the inked plate and run through the press.

The printmaking class of Alma de Arte Charter High School in Las Cruces came to visit my studio.

Ouida painting at Ghost Ranch
There is nothing like painting en plein air, in this case I was in the Piedra Lumbre, a large mesa at OKeeffe’s beloved Ghost Ranch.
